Crazy Wall keeps your bookmarks on your own devices and in your own iCloud. There's no account to make, there's no server of mine in the middle, and I never see what you save.

What Crazy Wall keeps, and where

Everything you put on a wall stays on your device, and syncs through your own iCloud account if you have iCloud turned on. That includes:

• Links you save — the address, and the title, description, picture and site icon that came with the page
• What you write on index cards
• Places you pin — the name, address and map coordinates you chose
• Your wall names, your tags, and how you've arranged things

Apple encrypts what sits in your iCloud, and it counts against your iCloud storage, not mine. I have no copy of it and no way to read it, which also means I can't recover anything for you if you delete it.

Your appearance settings — wonkiness, yarn droop, and the rest — stay on each device.

When you save a link

Crazy Wall asks the page you're saving for its title and picture, the same request your browser would make. That website sees a visit from your device, and nothing about you goes to me. If you're offline, or the site doesn't offer a preview, the bookmark is saved anyway.

When you open something

Tapping a bookmark opens it in Safari inside Crazy Wall, or hands it to the app it belongs to — Pinterest, Amazon, your music app — depending on your settings. Playing a YouTube video inside Crazy Wall loads YouTube's own player, and tapping a place opens Apple Maps. Those companies see that visit as they would any other. Once you're there, their privacy policies apply, not this one.

Searching for a place

When you add a place pin, what you type goes to Apple Maps to find matches, and Apple handles it under Apple's privacy policy. Crazy Wall never asks for your location.

Anonymous usage counts

Crazy Wall sends anonymous counts of which features get used, through a service called TelemetryDeck. They're counts, never content: "a wall was created on a cork surface", "a bookmark arrived from the Share Sheet", "a wall holds somewhere between 10 and 25 pins".

Your links, titles, card text, place names, wall names and tags can never appear in one. That isn't a promise about what I remember to leave out — the app has no way to put your words in a signal at all.

TelemetryDeck identifies a device with a one-way scrambled value, so signals can't be traced back to you — not by them, and not by me. They describe their own practices at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

What Crazy Wall never does

• No account, no sign-up, no password
• No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites
• No cookies, and no location tracking
• No other analytics or third-party kits beyond TelemetryDeck
• Nothing sold, rented or shared — there's nothing of yours to sell

Deleting things

Delete a pin or a wall in the app and it's gone from your devices as the change syncs. Deleting Crazy Wall removes what's on that device; what's in iCloud is yours to manage in the Settings app, under your name → iCloud. The practice wall you get on first launch is local to each device, never syncs, and resets every time you open the app.

If you ask to be told when it's out

"Tell me when it's out" opens your own mail app and sends me a message. Your address sits in my inbox, I use it to write to you once when Crazy Wall reaches the App Store, and then it's done — no list, no newsletter, and it goes nowhere else. Ask me to forget you at any point and I will.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
